SUN-PILOT Partners operate across the entire innovation cycle from research to industrial application and commercial exploitation.
Fundamental research is conducted at Trinity College Dublin, Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research, Tecnalia and the University of Bordeaux
Industrial partners include Qioptiq, NKT Photonics and Grupo Antolin, whilst SME contributors include Irish Precision Optics, AMO GmbH and Microresist Technology GmbH.

Trinity College Dublin

AMBER (Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research) is a Science Foundation Ireland funded centre that partners leading researchers in materials science and industry. AMBER material science researchers work across the disciplines of physics, chemistry, bioengineering and medicine, with an international network of collaborators and companies.

micro resist technology AG

micro resist technology GmbH is a leading company for the development and production of innovative photoresists, special polymers as well as ancillaries for micro- and nano-lithography and micro-optical applications. Its products are applied in key technologies like microsystems technologies, microelectronics, micro and nano photonics micro and nano engineering as well as in Life Sciences.

NKT Technologies

NKT Photonics is the leading supplier of high performance fiber lasers, fiber optic sensing systems, and photonic crystal fibers. Its main markets are within imaging, sensing and material processing. Products include ultrafast lasers, supercontinuum white light lasers, low noise fiber lasers, distributed temperature sensing systems and a wide range of specialty fibers.

Irish Precision Optics

Irish Precision Optics specialises in the design, development and manufacture of custom, leading edge performance optics for both industry and research including lasers for eye surgery, scientific research and micromachining, space optics and optics for large European programs for high power nuclear fusion lasers.

The Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques (LCPO) specialises on the mechanisms of polymerization and macromolecular engineering. Important projects are oriented towards the design of functional high value-added polymers and the study of their macroscopic properties for target applications, in particular in the domains of life sciences, energy and technology.
